So, as I've said, I've been using Herbal Essence Hello Hydration for a long time. As it's not good to let your hair get used to one type of shampoo/conditioner, I tried Herbal Essence Hydralicious Rehydrating and then Herbal Essence Long Term Relationship. I have long hair (down to the small of my back), and as I've mentioned, it's very thick and curly. I use a lot of heat on it, and I've processed it a lot in the past, so I try to use healing, hydrating, and smoothing products.
On Herbal Essence Hydralicious Rehydrating:
The shampoo smells kind of cloying, way too berry-ish. It's very thick, so I had to make sure my hair was super wet before I used it or it would all clump up wherever I first put it. The conditioner is even sweeter smelling, and I had to use a TON if I wanted to cover all of my hair (as I've said it's very long). It took FOREVER to rinse out both the shampoo and the conditioner. After using it for a week (I shampoo/condition every other day), it gave me dandruff like nobody's business! My hair didn't respond as well to it as it did to the Hello Hydration, either. It actually felt more dry! All in all, I really wouldn't use this product. I might try the self-targeting Hydralicious at one point, but Rehydrating? Crap.
Marissa's Rating: 3/10. Useful as shaving cream substitute.
On Herbal Essence Long Term Relationship:
This one doesn't have a strong a scent as the other Herbal Essence products I've used, but it's nice, kind of like the original Herbal Essences from a long time ago. What I absolutely love about these products is that you only need a little to get through all of your hair. A tiny dollop of shampoo will suffice, and I noticed that it was a lot easier for me to cut down on my conditioner consumption. Just a little was easily combed through all of my hair. Both rinsed easily and quickly out of my hair. It didn't make my hair as soft as I wanted, and I didn't notice much improvement in the way of the strength of my hair, but I will say that I haven't had a haircut in a long time (since April, maybe), and by now I would normally have a head full of split ends, but I haven't noticed as many as I normally would have. My hair grows very, very fast as it is, but I also noticed that it grew just a tiny bit faster using this product.
Marissa's Rating: 7.5/10. Would have been higher if it actually strengthened my hair.
I just finished the Long Term Relationship, so I bought some Vanilla Silk Shampoo, Coconut Milk Conditioner, and Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum from Organix. I would have loved to get the Coconut Milk Shampoo so I can truly review the line, but it's so popular, they ran out! I'll be posting a review in about a week.
Happy beauty hunting, loves!
